The Royal Group (TRG) currently has a position open for a Design Assistant/Sales Administrator in Marion, Ohio. The Design Assistant/Sales Administrator is responsible for creation of packaging samples and artwork to assist Design manager and Sales Representatives in sales efforts.

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS FOR THIS POSITION:
- Cut and assemble samples to meet expectations set by Design Manager’s and Customer/Sales request.
- Visit customers – take inventory (VMI); help with special projects; general assistance to sales rep(s) to meet customer needs.
- Assist with bringing in new business by developing and promoting plans and projects to meet customer’s requests, demands, needs and expectations.
- Regular and predictable attendance.
- Learn and implement cad system and art programs as instructed.
- Handle workload to best of their ability in Managers absence.
- Implement, maintain, and support all company policies and procedures, including safety and maintaining good housekeeping.
- Additional duties as assigned.
REQUIRED EDUCATION / EXPERIENCE:
- Experience or education in drafting, design, and engineering.
- Good communicator with customers, sales staff and Customer Service a plus.
PREFERRED EDUCATION / EXPERIENCE:
- Experience in a production/manufacturing facility, especially in the corrugated industry.
- School a plus but not required in Design and or Computer aided art programs.
REQUIRED SKILLS:
- Language Skills – Ability to read, analyze, and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures, or governmental regulations.
- Mathematical Skills – Ability to work with mathematical concepts such as probability and statistical inference, and fundamentals of plane and solid geometry. Ability to apply concepts such as fractions, percentages, ratios, and proportions to practical situations.
- Reasoning Ability – Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw conclusions. Ability to interpret an extensive variety of technical instructions in mathematical or diagram form and deal with several abstract and concrete variables.
- Technical Skills – The individual must have a working knowledge of the following: Cad System and associated design equipment and associated tools.
- Leadership Attributes – must possess the following: Superior time management skills, including the ability to handle multiple issues, ability to be an active listener as it relates to design needs, and maintain a professional appearance as needed to support sales and customer activity that this position is exposed to from time to time.
PHYSICAL DEMANDS:
- While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to talk or hear and sit and stand. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus.
WORK ENVIRONMENT:
- While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly exposed to moving mechanical parts, hand tools, high temperature glues, and sharps. The employee is frequently exposed to wet and/or humid conditions. The employee is occasionally exposed to high, precarious places; fumes or airborne particles; and vibration. The noise level in the work environment is usually loud.
