Georgia-Pacific’s Consumer Products division is seeking qualified professionals to consider for an Electrical Engineer opportunity focused on Automation at the Broadway facility in Green Bay, WI. The Engineer will collaborate with operations by problem-solving and innovating solutions that improve asset performance. The technologies will include PLCs, HMIs, Robotics, and Motion Control (Servos).

The ideal candidate will have a strong desire to perform technical troubleshooting and implement improvements. They will desire to be or become an industry expert and value continuous learning in a team environment that is striving to be world-class. The role will actively interface with all levels of the organization within the facility as well as groups outside the facility. Our Team

The Green Bay Broadway Mill manufactures and distributes leading commercial and retail brands of paper products (bath tissue, napkins, and towels). Every day, GP employees and products help maintain a strong, stable economy in Northeastern Wisconsin.

What You Will Do

  • Executing program changes to improve the performance of assets. Typically involving the Allen-Bradley platform.
  • Common equipment includes PCMC (Paper Converting Machine Company), Bretting, Fabio Perini, Fanuc, E80, Interroll, and Infinity.
  • Troubleshooting machine faults and implementing root cause problem elimination strategies.
  • Providing training and technical support for operations and on-shift maintenance to improve skills and knowledge.
  • Providing reliability expertise during the design and implementation phase of new assets as well as ongoing support.
  • Maintaining reliability data in databases and monitoring/developing key reliability measures.
  • Developing and supporting maintenance systems that reduce maintenance costs and increase reliability.
  • Managing equipment obsolescence strategies.

Who You Are (Basic Qualifications)

  • One or more of the following:
    • Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Electrical Engineering Technology, or other Engineering field OR in place of a degree
    • Ten (10) or more years of experience working with technologies such as PLCs, HMIs, Robotics, and Motion Control (Servos)
  • Experience troubleshooting and programming within PLCs
  • Experience with Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook
