Lead Analyst, IT Plat & Ops - Atlanta, GA (Hybrid)
Position Summary:
This position will lead the program and projects focused on the ITSM demand intake pipeline and coordinate the execution of identified managed service opportunities from concept to live in production.
The opportunity:
• Smurfit Westrock is seeking an experienced IT&D project management professional who will deliver on managing the intake and demand for work that will help us optimize and streamline our IT-run operations and help drive cost savings initiatives.
• The successful candidate will coordinate and train key IT and business stakeholders to articulate and document opportunity business cases and properly identify scope and requirements in areas where the business can leverage managed services with strategic 3rd party suppliers.
• They will successfully navigate the corporate constructs and governing processes put in place by our ePMO, Agile Delivery, and IT Service Strategy teams to ensure the team is positioned to rapidly execute initiatives that drive business value.
• The candidate will be comfortable working cross-functionally with multiple IT&D and business stakeholders from the executive leadership to very technical subject matter experts to support measures defined to achieve targeted OKRs and KPIs aligned with high-priority business goals.
How you will impact Smurfit Westrock:
1. Facilitate the delivery of medium to complex projects/programs such as:
o Managed service transitions. (Typical lifecycle - plan and definition, team knowledge acquisition, shadow period, reverse shadow period, hyper care/stabilization, service transfer.)
o Performance improvement and wellness plans.
o Continuous improvement in ITSM focus areas.
o Application maintenance platform upgrades and vulnerability mitigation initiatives.
o Account Management and Service Delivery process improvement initiatives.
2. Project Management responsibilities or proficiencies will involve:
o Managing intake of new project scope/initiatives leveraging the standard software system of record in conjunction with internal stakeholder requirements.
o Complying with all internal project status reporting processes and procedures including creating the charter, driving through approval funding, managing all stage gate documentation, and lessons learned post-completion.
o Leveraging internal project authorization software to fulfill all project requirements and procedures.
o Proficiency with industry-standard ALM tools for tracking and monitoring workstream details.
o Ensuring all CapEx and OpEx financials are aligned, and forecasts and variances are being documented.
o Identifying opportunities to partner with other project managers and practitioners on co-dependent delivery.
o Championing a culture of data-informed decision-making with agility and continuous improvement.
3. Manage demand/intake pipeline and project portfolio for IT Supplier/Account Management Foundations team.
o Work with business requestors to take initial ideas or opportunities, refine scope and business case, engage managed ITSM suppliers, coordinate with sourcing/procurement on the bid process, and obtain approvals for project launch.
o Identify and track the financial and labor impact of demands and projects through the full lifecycle.
o Develop comprehensive awareness of multi-year financial business case objectives and deliver to match.
o Must be comfortable working with all layers of an enterprise organizational chart.
o Possess strong facilitation, presentation, and communication skills.
o Collaborate with executive stakeholders to identify objectives and requirements.
o Provide executive summary reports of the portfolio, explaining business impact.
4. Support ITSM Supplier Management as needed which may include:
o Partner with sourcing/procurement, accounts payable, and finance to make contract adjustments, set up purchase orders, track invoices, and write/edit sows.
o Assisting in the planning and execution of change orders.
o Monitor, support, and train 3rd party service delivery managers and demand managers to follow internal processes and procedures.
o Manage cadence meetings, continuous improvement meetings, and RAID logs for internal customers and supplier stakeholders. Track supplier adherence to governance procedures and processes.
o Provide leadership and guidance to supplier/consultant resources to ensure ePMO standards are met and project artifacts are created and stored in the proper repository.
What you need to succeed:
1. University degree in Information Technology, Business, or related disciplines or commensurate industry experience.
2. 8+ years of experience in technology program/project management role(s) – IT applications, service management, and managed services related preferred.
a. Comprehensive experience in IT project management, planning, and testing, managing meetings, risks and issues, and tasks.
b. Credentialed in one or more industry-accepted certification competencies such as PMP, CSM, or CPO. (Preferred but not mandatory.)
c. Exposure to working on multiple projects simultaneously and coordinating prioritization within an overall IT&D program or set of programs.
3. Critical soft, interpersonal, and leadership skills:

4. Experience/Exposure to vendor management and outsourcing monitoring and governance processes.
5. In-depth experience with ITIL processes Issues, Change, Problem, and Asset management.
6. Experience in various operational methodologies i.e., LEAN, Six Sigma, Agile.
7. Experience in the effective use of automated ticketing, ITIL, and ITSM systems i.e., Service Now.
8. Knowledge of IT compliance and data protection.
9. Ability to facilitate management of vendor invoicing, monthly cost center forecasting, and annual budgeting.
10. Comprehensive knowledge of manufacturing, human resources, ERP, and financial systems is a plus.
