Summary:
The Digital Cutting Table Operator position is responsible for the safe and efficient operation of the digital cutting table(s) during their scheduled shift.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following:
- Provide subject matter expertise about the digital cutting table equipment and its operation including the front-end workflow management application (RIP).
- Communicate the digital cutting table’s capabilities and limitations to internal and external customers, as needed.
- Prioritize and manage the daily digital cutting schedule and meet required throughput standards.
- Stage work appropriately for incoming shifts.
- Attend regularly scheduled shift production meetings.
- Stage/stack cut work for downstream activities according to the established requirements.
- Complete any required production reporting in either manual or electronic formats.
- Evaluate print production quality and bring concerns to the attention of the appropriate supervisor.
- Work with prepress or shift supervisor to ensure the accurate placement and implementation of required digital cutting paths.
- Manipulate cutting paths when necessary and make change in work order.
- Make necessary machine adjustments and provide routine maintenance assistance.
- Assist in the direction of helpers assigned to them to assist with workload.
- Responsible for insuring quality procedures and quality checks are followed.
- Responsible for the overall Safety and cleanliness of equipment and area.
- Work in a safe and efficient manner in accordance with company policies and procedures.
- Overtime is required.
- Perform other duties as assigned.

Education and/or Experience
High school diploma or GED minimum.
Language Skills
Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals. May require the ability to write routine reports and correspondence. May require the ability to speak effectively before groups of customers or employees of organization.
Mathematical Skills
Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals.
Reasoning Ability
Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out detailed but uninvolved written or oral instructions. Ability to deal with problems involving a few concrete variables in standardized situations.
Computer Skills
To perform this job successfully, an individual should have excellent computer operations skills with some background in desktop publishing for graphic arts applications.
Other Qualifications
The Digital Cutting Table Operator position requires a strong understanding of digital graphics production and digital graphic file formats. The position requires excellent computer system operation skills with some background in desktop publishing for graphic arts applications, basic mechanical ability and familiarity with common production materials.
